Tradition meets innovation
Žemaitijos pienas is one of Lithuania’s largest and most modern dairy processors, with a history that began in 1924 in Telšiai. Over the past century, the company has gained extensive expertise, producing a wide range of dairy products that promote the cultural heritage of the Žemaitija region both locally and internationally. Today, with over 1,200 employees, the company is committed to crafting delicious and unique products that meet consumer needs while ensuring the highest quality from farm to shelf.
Quality and long-standing traditions have become the hallmark of Žemaitijos pienas, representing reliability and excellence. However, behind every slice of cheese or glass of milk lies a complex logistics system that requires innovative solutions – this is where Linqo steps in.
The challenge: managing a diverse fleet
Before partnering with Linqo, Žemaitijos pienas relied on another GPS provider. However, the company sought greater accuracy, reliability, and comprehensive solutions to manage its large and varied fleet.
They needed a robust system for tracking vehicles and routes, as well as advanced telematics tools to analyze driver behavior and optimize fuel consumption. Beginning their partnership in 2014, Žemaitijos pienas now monitors over 300 vehicles through the LinqoTrack platform, ranging from cars to milk tankers and trucks.
Linqo solutions: tailored technology and digitalization
For nearly a decade, Žemaitijos pienas has relied on Linqo’s GPS tracking solutions to enhance logistics operations. Automated features have digitized daily tasks, reducing the need for manual work. This has streamlined deliveries, intercity product transportation, and raw material transfers, aligning with the company’s environmental sustainability goals and efficient growth.
The company actively implements Linqo’s Eco-Drive system, evaluating drivers based on over 130 parameters. Žemaitijos pienas has been instrumental in co-developing Linqo’s solutions, requesting tailored features such as the Eco-Drive Groups functionality, which allows comparisons of eco-driving performance across driver and vehicle groups.
Additionally, Žemaitijos pienas benefits from Linqo’s tachograph management tools and onboard computer data insights. To ensure optimal conditions for transporting dairy products, Linqo installed Bluetooth temperature sensors in 2020, enabling real-time temperature monitoring.
